Our mixed colour Pekin day old chicks come from our friendly flock of much-loved pet Pekins here on the farm. If you're looking to buy adorable bantam chicks with plenty of personality, these little birds are a wonderful choice for families, first-time chicken keepers, or anyone wanting colourful additions to their flock.
Because these chicks come from a variety of colours, every hatch is different. The selection available depends on the day you visit, but we usually have a lovely mix to choose from. Two of our Pekin hens are Frizzle Pekins, so some chicks may inherit the distinctive frizzled feathers. While there's always a chance of taking home a Frizzle, we can't guarantee which chicks will carry the gene.
One of the great things about our mixed Pekin chicks is that you can mix and match them with any of the other breeds that hatch on the same day. These usually include Sablepoots, Silkies, Polands and Orpingtons, allowing you to create your own colourful little bantam flock.

Caring for Your Day Old Chicks
Day old chicks will need to be kept warm under a suitable heat lamp or brooder for approximately 3–5 weeks. Once fully feathered, they can gradually move outside during warm summer weather, provided temperatures are suitable.
