Why Choose Brahma Hens?

  • Stunning Appearance: Their large size, feathered feet, and intricate golden partridge plumage with hints of blue or chocolate make Brahmas a striking addition to any flock.
  • Egg Production: Brahmas are reliable layers of medium-sized, light brown eggs, producing consistently throughout the year.
  • Calm Temperament: Known for their docile and friendly nature, they are excellent for peaceful setups or ornamental flocks.

Care Instructions for Brahma Hens

  • Housing Requirements: Ensure housing is spacious, with sturdy perches to accommodate their size. Coops and outdoor areas should remain dry to prevent feather damage, especially on their feet.
  • Outdoor Tolerance: Brahmas are cold-hardy and thrive in winter, but they require dry and well-drained outdoor spaces to keep their feathered legs clean and healthy.
  • Feeding: Keep them on growers' pellets until 18 weeks, transitioning to layers' pellets as they approach laying age. Provide fresh greens and occasional treats to maintain their health and vitality.

Important Information

  • Flock Compatibility: Due to differences in vaccinations, we do not recommend mixing Brahmas with hybrid hens. These birds are best kept with other pure breeds or similar flocks to maintain optimal health and compatibility.
  • Vaccination: All hens are fully vaccinated, giving you peace of mind as they join your flock.
  • Group Size: We recommend keeping Brahmas in groups of at least three to ensure social happiness.
  • Collection: Available for collection only from 1st February 2025, with customers able to choose their preferred colour upon arrival.
