What Makes Salmon Faverolles Special?

  • Unique Features: These hens are admired for their beards, muffs, feathered legs, and distinctive five-toed feet.
  • Productive Layers: They produce medium-sized, light brown eggs consistently, even in colder months.
  • Gentle Nature: Their calm temperament makes them ideal for families or mixed flocks of similarly docile birds.

Care and Compatibility

  • Housing: Spacious, dry coops with plenty of ventilation are essential for their size and feathered legs.
  • Flock Compatibility: Faverolles thrive with Brahmas and bantams but are not suited for hybrid flocks due to vaccination differences.
  • Outdoor Runs: These hens enjoy foraging but need well-drained spaces to keep their feathered feet clean.
  • Feeding: Transition from growers' pellets at 18 weeks to layers' pellets to support egg production.

Important Details

  • Vaccination: Fully vaccinated for their health and your peace of mind.
  • Collection: Choose your hens from 1st February 2025 onwards, with group sizes of three or more recommended for social wellbeing.
